Patient Volume
Overview
The Patient Volume dashboard provides deep insight into patient growth against plan for the USA. The metrics can be observed by state, roster, fee-for-service, and market segment. The results are trended over several years. The data reflects an identity linking data management process to eliminate inaccuracies and duplications.
Metric Definitions
Reporting month: Month selected to view results. Note some payers have a lagged roster and therefore, they may not count in the most recent reporting month. For example, Horizon commercial is lagged a month.
Roster patient: A patient assigned or attributed in the reporting month’s roster. Includes all segments. Includes all types of provider contracts for the rosters.
Non-Roster patient: A patient in the EMR and not in the reporting month roster—who has had a fee for service provider visit within the last 12 rolling months. Includes Insured FFS from any contracted payer, cash and SanitasCare (direct primary care). Includes any provider visit type (primary care, urgent care, telehealth), but does not include non-provider visits such as lab/DI only.
Actual: the month when the visit happen
Derived: subsequent months up to 11 months before the patient becomes inactive
Qualifying Visits: Primary Care, Urgent Care and Telehealth. You can contact the Sanitas data team to get the latest appointment types included.
Growth Goals: defined by Sanitas at the state, region, segment and select sub-segments. Managed in Leap in a managed table
Segments and Sub-segments
Segments and sub-segments standardized to work across all markets. When a segment or subsegment can’t be identified in the data, it’s labeled as “unknown”
